Rita Geldert

Board Chairperson

Retired City Manager, City of Vista.

Rita retired from the City of Vista after 17 years, fifteen as the City Manager, which capped her 35 year career in local government where she also held positions as Directors of Finance and Human Resources. During her Vista career Rita oversaw the development of the Vista Village shopping and the construction and completion of over $100 million of community projects.

Rita also served on the Board of Trustees for the Vista Community Clinic and was the Executive Director for the California City Management Foundation which is interested in the principles of good governance to assure sound and ethical leadership for communities. Other interests include assisting Operation Hope and Leap for Success. Rita’s degrees include A.S. Psychology, B.A. Special Education/Liberal Arts and MBA UC Davis. Rita and Dale have been married since 1982, have three children and five grandchildren residing in San Diego County.
