| Virginia’s beloved Uncle George lived in North San Diego County and had a close relationship with Tri-City Hospice during and after his late wife’s illness. When George passed away two years ago, a bequest established the George W. Ehring Hospice Educational Fund at Tri-City Hospital Foundation. The fund, which provides hospice training and education for nurses, physicians, social workers, and volunteers, assures that patients receive the highest quality and most effective end-of-life care at Tri-City Hospice.
Virginia has made several visits to the Tri-City area and Tri-City Hospital Foundation to encourage the growth of the George W. Ehring Fund. Most recently, she has offered to personally match gifts to Hospice up to a total of $2,500.
When asked about her generosity and commitment, Virginia shared a favorite quote by Maya Angelou: “I have found that among its other benefits, giving liberates the soul of the giver.”
