Serving over 400 individuals throughout North San Diego County, the Cardiac Wellness Center at Tri-City Medical Center is best described as "one large and loving family."

Having been in existence for over seventeen years, the Cardiac Wellness Program provides individually tailored exercise, telemetry monitoring, education, and psychological and social support.

According to cardiac patients Dorothy and Ray Staehr, "the Cardiac Wellness Center has literally saved Ray's life. Giving - whether it is for the Center or of our volunteer time - is well worth every moment. We are happy to be part of such a wonderful organization!"

Hundreds of dedicated cardiac patients and over 180 gracious donors took part in phase one of a successful fundraising campaign to renovate and expand the Cardiac Wellness facility and programs. The And the Beat Goes On Campaign continues to raise the funds necessary to equip and provide further developmental support for the Cardiac Wellness Center.

In addition to an updated state of the art exercise gym, a new community education room enables the Cardiac Wellness staff to expand prevention, education and lifestyle change programs for the entire community.
